Concerned at the ongoing work at Sladnor Park by the owners,  MCG & MRA committee members requested that St Marychurch ward councillors visit the most sensitive site to view the systematic clearing and destruction of habitat, including removal of hedges.

Councillors Ray Hill and Anne Brooks attended a meeting on site on Tuesday April 12 and witnessed at first hand the ongoing work.

A substantial number of trees have already been felled, and the hitherto beautiful and secluded wildlife haven is being mercilessly ravaged.  Wildlife has been disrupted, and the deer that roamed Glass Wood to the north west have moved away.

The situation is being reported to the St Marychurch Community Partnership.
