For those who could not make it, this peaceful scene is from Sharpham Open Day. The lady with the basket is Anna McNeill, who took us on a foraging tour round the Sharpham Estate. Anna is a trained herbalist and has extensive knowledge; she also told us interesting stories about wild plants growing in the meadows, forests and walled gardens. We turned the herbs we collected together into some wild pesto and ate it on bread under the Yew tree, drinking herbal teas, listing to guitar music and later a story teller turned up, too. There will be another day session with foraging on 13 June. The days is called Nature’s Bounty and costs £20.
